Paul Hartmut Würdig, alias Sido, put his death mask away some time ago, and has shed his bad boy image, too. At the start of the 2000s, the man from Berlin mixed up the German music scene, as one of the founders of a completely new genre: German ghetto rap. A stellar career followed, with the sale of over 40 million records and several prizes, including the MTV Music Award.
He now works frequently as a presenter and actor. And he’s a businessman: currently, two tattoo studios, a bar and a brand of vodka belong to the Sido label. As of this year, the one-time masked man is also on the hunt for new talent for “The Voice of Germany”.
But on 12 April 2020, he’s back to his old self and doing what he does best: ghetto hip hop. From 13.00 he’s the guest artist on the Idalp stage high above Ischgl. He’ll bring with him his best-known hits including “Astronaut”, “Bilder im Kopf” and “Tausend Tattoos”. The best part: entrance to the concert is included in all valid ski passes. And there’ll be snow in Ischgl after Easter, too.
Here’s something to get you in the mood already:
