Lenny Kravitz began his European tour on Saturday – and the most exciting concert on that tour takes place today, when he sings on the Idalp at the legendary end of season concert. Here are Trisanna’s favourite songs. He’s sure to play one or two of them!
A classic, one we all love. Written in 1998, “Fly away” is one of Kravitz’s most successful songs. The idea for the song came to him, by the way, as he was driving along the beach in his jeep.
HERE TO LOVE
This song comes from his 2018 album “Raise Vibration”. If there was a global anthem, it would be this one – that’s what Kravitz said of this song. What’s he trying to say? Live, love and respect one another!
BANK ROBBER MAN
When Lenny recorded this song, he was very angry. But that’s some time ago now, 2001 to be exact. A nearby branch of “Bank of America” was robbed back then, and because the police were looking for an African American, Lenny was stopped by four or five police cars with a weapon to his face. He was only released when an old lady, who was a witness, confirmed that Lenny wasn’t the bank robber.
THINKING OF YOU
When his mother died of cancer in 1995, it was the start of a difficult time for Lenny. So he wrote this song, as a homage to his mother.
Which songs he’ll actually sing today is still a mystery, of course. We’re really looking forward to finding out!
