The travel and science channel “World of wonder” has just chosen the ten best ski areas in the Alps. And the very first ski area on the list is one we know very well. You guessed it: Ischgl.
“In the Tyrolean Alps, Ischgl is the place to be for winter sports enthusiasts.” That doesn’t come from us, but from the experts at the TV channel “World of Wonder” (WdW), who crowned Ischgl as the absolute top Alpine ski area at the end of November. “With around 239 kilometres of slopes, there’s a lot on offer for beginners as well as pro skiers. If you want to experience a piece of the past, for example, you can explore the old smuggling routes with skis or a snowboard.”
The WdW test also rated Ischgl, though, on everything that’s provided away from the slopes: the restaurants, hotels and the apres ski opportunities.
In the runner-up positions, by the way, the people at WdW voted for Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis and Sölden. Both are, of course, also really fantastic ski areas. And completely worthy of their places on the podium – behind Ischgl.
