Place of residence

Professional freestyler, army sportsman

How did you get into freestyle?
Right from the start when I began snowboarding as a young lad, I was fascinated by freestyle. After a year I switched to skiing, and although I still like to snowboard from time to time, I don’t regret my decision. When my sponsor brought the SCA Newscoolteam to my first competition, I couldn’t imagine that my hobby would become my career later on.

In Sochi in 2014, you were the youngest Olympic athlete since 1936. The Winter Olympics in February 2018 in Korea, when you were 19, were your second Games. Are you aiming for a new record in Olympic appearances?
Honestly, I don’t know what the record is for the number of times participating in the Olympics. But I do hope that these weren’t my last Olympic Winter Games.

What impression of Korea have you brought back home with you?
