How does a native of Vienna end up in Ischgl?
After my tourism training, I worked for several international tour operators in Vienna, then in 1999, I moved first of all to Stubaital. From there, Alfons Parth invited me to come to Ischgl as managing director in 2003.

Do you feel like a proper Ischgl local by now?
These days my heart is definitely here in Ischgl, and so it’s become my homeland as well. Ischgl’s flair matches my attitude to life one hundred percent. In addition, my wife Nicole is a long-standing Ischgl resident, and my two daughters, of course.

How important have the many concerts become for Ischgl as a destination nowadays?
They’re enormously important, as this is a unique selling point and so part of Ischgl’s “brand”, particularly in terms of the recognition factor, image value and added value.

After Andrea Berg opened this year’s season, Helene Fischer is now scheduled for the season finale on the Idaple. Is this due to a general trend for German pop music?
German-language music is enjoying an incredible revival at the moment. And with Helene Fischer, we’ve managed to get the absolute superstar in this genre.

That sounds like a new record attendance?
The show is sure to be on the same scale as Robbie Williams.
